![]() ![]() Most games take a relatively strong stance against cheating for a few different reasons. The main factor that influences development companies to stop people from cheating isn’t necessarily because they care about fair gameplay, at least not directly. When a game develops a reputation for cheating, it tends to go downhill. Look at what happened to games like PUBG which developed a reputation for themselves. Many people who formerly enjoyed that game are no longer able to do so because they are afraid that everyone who kills them is using hacks, even though a relatively small proportion of the game’s population is actually cheating. However, when cheating reaches a critical mass, then people lose faith in games that have that reputation, and the number of players gets cut down dramatically. ![]() Epic Games saw what happened to many other titles, and they decided that they didn’t want to see Fortnite go that way. ![]()
